Most roots will show signs of sprouting even where pitted. Mr Barnett has arranged for a capital programme for the cantata " Under the Palms." which is now being printed and will shortly be distributed. All who take an interest (and who does not?) in this performance should make sure of getting a copy of this programme. The earthquake on Saturday evening war a very curious and severe one. It came without any warning rumble and appeared like the huge swell of the ocean, being a strikingly long steady roll, in the direction from east to west.
