The route by boat wa* both safe and an enjoyable change to the passengers in fact like a picnic, and all who travelled exprnssed themselves well pleased with the arrangements made. On the breakdown of the railway seivice on Raster Monday, ooca si o ned by the heavy flood, this Levin mute was ih» only way open to passengers from Pnlmerston tn Fox ton. Five Foxton residents were driven in the Coach from i evin on Tuesday morning, 16th April, after having previously endeavoured to get over from Shannon. ' On Monday, the IStb April, the usual C ach was run through the flood to Levin as well as a vehicle in the afternoon to Ker. ru, with the Manager of the New Zealand Es* tatea Cotnpnny and the Secretary of the Wellington Freezing Company as passengers, who failed to succeed in crossing «t the Shannon Ferry in the morni'ig. The Coach leaves Whyte's Hotel, Foxton, every week day at 5.30 a.m., for Levin, catching the train to Wellington t 8.0 a.m. The Coach leaves Levin Hotel at 1J 15 a in. on the arrival of <hp train from Wellington, reaching Foxton at 12.15 p. m.
