A Queensland Sensation.

Details have been received dt Brisbane of the wholesale poisoning of shearers at the Bowen Downs station. • • . *\ Eight men were poisoned in the first batch, and 49 in the second. The crime was effected by mixing arsenic in bread and in a meat padding. An eye witness describes the scene as horrible, men writhing about in every direction. One died, and others are in a dangerous condition. Policemen have been despatched to the scene. Last year the Bowen Downs station was concerned in the stri'te difficulties, and many free labourers were taken on, who are retained. The perpetrators of the crime have Dot yet been traced.
