The Premier's Birthday.
On Saturday the Premier, the Hon. Richard Seddon, celebrated his 50th birthday. Though rather late we desire to join in the many heart* felt wishes that he may live to enjoy many more birthdays. We have a great respect for Mr Seddon, and admire the energy and determination of his character. We do not hold with all his political views, hut that is our misfortune and not his fault, as he has always been ready to re* spond to any invitation to express those he holds for the enlightment of the electors. We trust that in his desire to serve the Colony he will not lose sight of the duty he owes his family, and therefore pay some heed to the proper care of his health. Il is pleasant when a marked period occurs in the course of a politician's life, as it enables the true ieeling of fellow colonists to be shown, free of the frequent discord displayed by those who do not hold similar views on political questions. We trust that happiness and prosperity may wait on both himself, Mrs Seddon and his family.
