At an influential meeting on Toes* day nightf3«fative to the Nelson Art Gallery, a was carried tendering thanks to Mrs Suter for the munificent gift she had bestowed on the citizens as a site for an art gallery in "memory of her late husband^Jßishop, after whom the gallery will be named. A strong committee was also appointed to raise £600 towards the erection of the galltigb the trustees for which are Bishop Mules, the Mayor, Colonel BraAm, Messrs Graham, Cock, Fell, Pitt and Schlanders. Besides the half acre of land in the centre of the city, Mrs Suter is giving a number of works of art and over JtftfiO, with, which it had been intended to^Mneaent a testimonial to lh»l*te BTsnop.
