Distance from Foxton to Levin Station about 14 miles, the road going throtigk the prettiest scenery in the district. During the nearly four years' service over tho Wirokino Ferry, the mail has been delivered every day, in spite of floods. The Fettle by boat was both safe and ftn enjoyable change to thepassecgers in fact like a picnic, and all Who travelled expressed themselves welt pleased with the' arrangements made. On the breakdown &f the Railway service on Easier Monday, occasioned by the heavy flood, this Levin route was tho only way open to passengers from Pahnerston to Foxton. Five Foxton residents .were driven in the Coach from Levin on Tuesday morning, 16th April, after having previously endeavoured to get over from Shannon. On Monday, the 15 th April> the usual C ach was run through the flood to Levin as well as a Vehicle in the afternoon to Kereru, With the Manager of the New Zealand Estates Company and the Secretary of the Wellington Freezing Company as passengers, who failed to sucoeed in crossing «t the Shannon Ferry in the morning. Single Fabes, 4s ; Eeturn (available 1 month), 6s. The Conch leaves Whyte's Hotel, Foxton, evoi'y week day at 5.30 a.m., for Levin, catching the train to Wellington at 8.0 a.m. The Coach leaves Levin Hotel at 1J.15 a.m. on the arrival of the train from, Wellington, reaching Foxton at 12 15 y.m.
