The usual monthly meeting of the a"bove" Council was held at the Library buildings yesterday evening at 7.80 p.m. Present— The Mayor (T. P. Williams),- Crs McMillan, Westwood, Hamer and Jenks. -The minutes of ill«r previbufr meeting were read and confirmed. The following correspondence was ? read:— -- -

The Mayor said -that Cvs Jenks, Westwood, Bradcock and. himself visited the reserves and found the Target Reserve occupied by sheep. They found the fences wanted re- ! "pairing. Proposed by the Mayor, seconded Jby fir H^uier, That a special meetIng^ the Council be held on Tuesd ay'ttie 1 itii in at . for to receive and adopt the estimates of income and expenditure for the present year, also to hear any objections to the Burgess List of the Borough and correct} adopt* ana sign the said Burgess List. Carried. The usual notice to strike a rate of Is 3d in the £ for general and' Id in the' £*for Library rate iftts given. , The . usual accounts were passed. Proposed by Cr Jenks, seconded by Cr.Hamer, That Mi? Sullivan be requested to trim the willow trees in front of his property along Spring street or same will be cut by Council and. charged to him. Same to be done within seven days from date. Carried.
Proposed by Cr Jenks, seconded by Cr Westwood, That the report of the Sexton re cemetery be received and that the paths be reformed also that the present well be deepened and that a new bucket be supplied for use at well. Carried.
Proposed by Cr Jenks, seconded by Cr Hanier, That F. Martin be allowed the sum of £1 extra in connection with Synions' outlet drain. Carried.
Proposed by the Mayor, seconded by Or Jenks, That tenders be called for making a new toll board for the Wirokino. ferry and the scale of Tolls be advertised in compliance with The Public Works Act. Tenders to be in by the 3rd of June. Carried.
