» Yesterday afternoon at Mrs Whyte's residence there was a large meetiog of ladies to form a working | hpe for m-iking clothing for Dr i Barnardo's Homes* It was resolved that the Working assistants should be single, they having more leisure time at their diapoMft! f° l * s »ch work. Mrs Austin was nsked to act ao President, and Mrs Waiter Robinson and Mrs McMillan as Vice-Presi-dents and Miss Whyte to act as Secretary, and Treasurer. Fourteen names of workers were given in at tbe meeting of those present and sixteen others were accounted for. The subscription was fixed at sixpence a month. Mrs Whyte placed her room at the disposal of tbe Society, snH it was decided to meet there every Wednes day at 2 80. Work was commenced on material presented by sympathisers with the object served by this Society. The Secretary will be glad to ye ceive any material, remnants or otherwise, from those who approve of the work proposed.
