Owing to the friction between Catholic mission in Marshall Islands and the New Guinea Co >pany, the German Givernm^nt proposes that .he Company should surrender its sovereign rights in the island-*. Spain is devoting £250.000 to repressing the (Juban revolt. Ministers declare that they will not stop at any sacrifice to preserve the colony. A further force of 8000 men ha? been sent to Cuba. Ministers say they are prepared, if necessary, to despatch 100,000 men.
