-0A public meeting was held in the Public Hall last evening under the auspices of the local Good Templar lodge, and was addressed by Mr Crabb, the travelling agent of the Grand Lodge of New Zealand. The meeting was largely attended, and was in every respect a pronounced sucoess. Mr Crabb is a remarkably forcible and eloquent speaker and held the attention of the audience riveted from start to finish, dealing mainly with the temperance question from the economic and industrial standpoint. The Rev. Mr Barnett occupied the chair. Preparatory to the meeting in the Hall, Mr Crabb held a short peripatetic meeting in the open air, which pro>ed about as lively and entertaining a ten minutes as have been enjoyed in Foxton for gome years past. Mr Crabb speak* again in the Hall to-night, and an overflowing house is morally certain.
