It will be noticed in the account from Truth, published below, of the match between this team and Bangitikei No. 1/ tho late holders of tbe cup, that the latter team were handicapped Very severely by the loss of Biddiford who got a hit on the back 0f his head from Snow's stick, | Obliging his place being filled by Ijtaflerson. Upon resumption Baker and Williams gave the Orange a bad time, but Blundell very neatly, saved on more than one occasion, Bill further easing. A good combined Pink rush was finished by Lloyd driving for home. The ball hit the post. Manawatu renewed tbe attack in the next half, Snow mafcing a feint hit and run, and Baker scoring off it. Manawatu 1, Bangitikei 0. The (range were again called upon to defend. Wilson cleared the lines, Sanderson improved the advantage, and then Bills finished up with a good hit through, making the score 1 goal each. In the first half of the scond spell some fairly fast play was shown. On one occasion Lloyd hit back in endeavouring to save, and gave Bills a chance, which he accepted. Bangitikei 2 goals, Manawatu 1. The next ten minutes was marked by a pretty even struggle, but no further scores were Snow and Lloyd changed in the last spell, upon the opemng of which the Yellows drove thefts adversaries well back. Baker averted a score and then followed a big struggle, which ended in Baker backhanding a neat goal, again equalising the scores. Xn the last ton minutes each side was alternately attacking and defending, but the spell endftd before the tie was settled. After the usualinterval the teams played on to a finish:. About four minutes from the start Lloyd picked up a hit in relief. He made a splendid drive, then a second, but missed the third, leaving the ball directly opposite the goal.
