"IMITATION is the SINCEREST FLATTERY." The articles mo9t imitated are CLEMENTS' TONIC and FLETCHER'S PILLS. WHY? BECAUSE they have the best reputation and are most in demand by the public, consequently, every dishonest trader tries to trade on their fame and renown. It is really wonderful that the Australian people are so slow to see the truth as regards the unscrupulous quacKs and char, latans who prey on the credulity of the Australian public. Scarcely a week ever passes but what the press exposes the barefaced and shameful practices of home of these harpies, yet, in face of all they seem to thrive, and the paper who hounds them down most thrives fattest on their advertisements and cracks champagne over eaoh balance-sheet. Clements' Tonic and Fletcher's Pills have never yet Btooped to deception and mis-representation. They are scientific therapeutical agents, and evidence as to their value oan be found in every district, and such being the case it is unnecessary to further extol their virtues. HISTOBY REPEATED. — Thousands of people saw Charles I. beheaded in 1643. Yet in all that crowd there was but one man who knew why the blood spurted from the dissevered arteries in the Monarch's neok. That was Dr. Harvey, the King's Phyßioian. He had announoed the circulation of the blood, and in so doing started a tremendotiß soandal. People called him a tool, a meddler, a madman. What a luoky thing it waa that the Puritans chopped off the King's head instead of Harvey's. A King more or lobb doesn't matter, bat a thinker more or less does. Thank meroy its safer now to tell new troths than it was 2SO years ago. That is why we are not afraid to say Cbease's Al Coffees is the very best procurable.
