» : The ordinary meeting of the above was held ab the Library Buildings last night at 7.30. Present— The Mayor (T. P. Williams), Crs Jenks, McMillan, Hamer, Bradcock and Westwood. The minutes of the laat ordinary and a special meeting were read and confirmed. The correspondence received was read. The following accounts were passed for payment :— J. Sullivan, £6 15s ; Rhodes & Co., 9s ; C. Spring, £7 17s ; T. F. Gibson, £6 fig ; J. Liddell, £1 10s ; charitable aid to Mrs Boes*on, £1 4g 9d ; same to Mrs Forhman, 17s 3d ; Public account— half-share painting, £2. Library accounts — H. Blake, 16s ; Rhodes & Co., 6s 6d ; W. Park, £2 4s 3d. Proposed by the Mayor, seconded by Cr Jenks— That permission be given to H. Coley to remove 1000 yards of gravel from the Borough gravel pit on the same conditions as granted to the Manawatu County Council, on his signing the required conditions. Carried. Proposed by the Mayor, seconded by Cr Hamer— That R. Gray be granted permission to remove the sand from the hill opposite his property, the same to be thoroughly secured against drift. Carried. Proposed by Cr McMillan, seconded by Cr Hamer — That Mr Webb be empowered to paint the fire-bell stand and fence in front of Library at a cost of £8 ss, according to bis letter of this date. Carried. Proposed by Cr Jenks, seconded by Cr Hamer — That tenders be called for forming and claying the Ladies' Mile, from gate at end to present metal, as soon as funds permit. Carried. Proposed by Or McMillan, seconded by Cr Westwood— That tenders be called for cleaning out Main swamp drain, Wirokino road drain, and Guerin's drain, tenders to be in by next ordinary meeting. Carried. Only one tender was received for leasing the Recreation Reserve, from Robinson Bros., at £15 per annum for a term of 3 or 7 years. Proposed by Cr Hamer, seconded by Cr Bradcock — That Messrs Robinson Bros.' tender for leasing part Recreation Reserve be aocepted, for a term of three years, at £15 per an* nura. Carried.
