Commercial,
Gorton & Son's Stock Report. Bulls, 26th Jan. We have held several stock sales since our last report and managed to quit a good many lines but chiefly after the sale at very low prices. Yesterday's sale at Feilding showed a decided improvement on that, when we yarded over 500 head of cattle and about 2000 sheep, and thanks to the courtesy of Mr C. Carr, we were able to use his yards for some of the cattle. We sold over 300 head of cattle and a good many pens of sheep and mostly under the hammer. Our quotations for this sale are : — Fat bullocks, £5 5s to £5 8s ; bullocks, £4 19s 6d ; store bullocks, £4 to £4 7s 6d : 2to 2s-yr steers, £3 4s to £3 5s 6d ; 18-months to 2-yr steers, £2 16s to £2 15s 6d ; cows, £3 2s to £3 12s 6d; yearlings, 35s to 41s; weaners, 21s to 29s 9d. Fat ewes, 5s to 6s 7d ; breeding ewes, 2s to 3s lOd ; 2-tooth, ewes, 4s 9d ; 2-tooth wethers, 5s 6d to .6s 9d.
