A warrant has been issued by the Auckland District Court for the arrest of Te Whiti, in connection with the bankruptcy proceedings. At Otnata, near New Plymouth, a dog attacked a youth named Oliver and had to be shot to make it relax its hold. The youth has been most severely injured. A man named Samuel Julian committed suicide at Koru, near New Plymouth, on Thursday. The son of the deceased heard a phot fired,
and proceeding to ah outbuilding found his father lying dead; with a double-barrelled gun between, his legs. The gun had evidently been fired with the aid of a piece of string. Deceased had been despondent , of late, but no cause can be assigned,. for the deed. A reef 3ft thick has been struck, at Langdon's, nine miles from Greymouth. Gold is visible throughout. One ton crushed from the reef gave 6oz 7dwt retorted gold. . .'
