Polo.
On Saturday afternoon a very interesting and fast game was played at the Oroua Downs between the Oroua *nd Manawatu Polo Clubs. Thejtosult was to the disadvantage of. Oroua as the Palmerston men won by 8 goals to 8. Following are the teams : — .Oroua — Messrs J. McLennan (captain), 0. -Robinson, A. Strang andß. Gower. Pacmeeston — Messrs A. S. Baker Mcßae, Sewell and Snow. The Oroua members who secured goals were, A. Strang 2. and 0. Robinson 1. The Manawatu members all scored, Baker getting 8, Mcßae 2, Snow 2, and Sewell 1. Mr Sewell got an ugly crack on the head during the game, but by whom he was unaware. Rain spoilt the play and also the pleasure of the onlookers a bit, but t^te WeatbS.* cleared directly the game was finished. Owing to the showery weather the number of Visitors was not large. Mffl McLennan was most hospitable.
