The minutes of the previous meet*, ing were read and confirmed. The following resolutions were passed : — Proposed by Cr McMillan, seconded by Cr Westwood, That a special meeting be called for Wednesday, 16th inst., at 7 80 p.m. for tha purpose of deciding the day of the week on which the half-holiday shall be declared. Proposed by Gr Hamer, seconded by Cr J«nks, That the application of J. B. McMillan for an auctioneer's license be granted. , Proposed by Cr Jenks, seconded by Cr Hamer — That tenders be called for clearing all grass and other herbage from the public ceme* tery, Tenders to be in by the 16th instant. Prop&sed by the Mayor, seconded Cr Westwood, That the amount ■of seven pounds ten be paid to Duds "ion Bros, as extras on Moutoa Road contract. Proposed by Cr McMillan, seconded by Cr Hamer, That this Council adopt "The 1894 Bating Act" annual value for triennial valuation, and that Thomas Francis Gibson be appointed valuer. * Proposed by Cr Jenks, seconded by Cf Hamer, That the whole of the Council form a Public Works Comfor the future, three to form a Proposed by Cr McMillan, aeconby Cr Westwood, That leave of % absence be granted to the clerk for * 14 days from^january 9th, the usual holjgay. Proposed by Cr Bradcock, seconded by A Hamer, That this Council vote the sum of ten pounds as honorarium j to the Mayor in appreciation of his past services. * The following accounts were passed for payment:— J?.
