Annual Sheep Returns.
• ♦ . The annual sheep returns have just been completed by the Stock Department, and they show an increase of 850,460 sheep within the year endod 30i.h April last. The following are the particulars for the six stock districts of the Colony: — Auckland— lncrease, 1325 ; Napier —increase, 176,309; Wellington West Coast— increase, 806,857 ; Marlborough-Nelson - increase, 52, 422 ; Canterbury-Kaikoura — increase 259,687. Totals for the Colony, 20,280,829 sheep ; increase, 850,465. Number of owners, 15,837 ; increase, 1058. Sheep rate, £20,281 ; increase, £851.
