Otaki Licensing Committee.

The above bommittee met yesterday at the Court House Otaki. Present — Messrs Brabant (chairman), Williams, Stuckey, Harnetfc, McOulloch, Bennett, Gascoigne, ••Smith and Thynne. -* Certain transfers were considered. ; The Transfer from D. Laing to C. Matthews for the Junction Hotel, Sandon, was granted. The transfer from T. V. Procter to D. O'Loughlin for the Central Hotel, Otaki, was granted. There was no appearance of the parties in the application to transfer the license of the Post Office Hotel, Foxton, from J. Mitchell to 0. Walters. Mr Franklin, aa solicitor for the parties stated that the application

was withdrawn and an application would be made to obtain a temporary transfer from T. Mitchell to T. V. Procter. The Inspector of Licensed Houses opposed the transfer of the licensa from Emma Broadbent to McLeod, and after some evidence had been taken the Inspector asked for an adjournment to enable him to subpoena witnesses. After some discussion amongst the members of the Committee the case was adjourned to Friday next; The application to transfer the license of a house at Manakau to Levin was opened, but owing to the Chairman having to leave by train, the further hearing was also adjourned to next Friday. The Committee then adjourned.
