China and Japan.
The United States Government has demanded that the six Great Powers Bhonld, under section 61 of the Berlin Treaty, intervene in the strife between China and Japan. General Yamagata is returning to Japan invalided. . The Japanese Government insist that a Chinese ambassador be sent Tokio to discuss the peace proposals. Major Yon Hannekin is organising a Chinese army of 100,000 men, which will be commanded by European officers.
