Wirokino Road Board.
- At the last meeting of the above Board the following business was considered : — A letter from Messrs Chapman, Fitzgerald and Tripp, forwarding bill of costs incurred in the case Woods v. Wirokino Road Board, amounting to £160 4s 6d. The plaintiff's costs, which were added, amounted to £181 8s 8d, making a total of £350 8s 2d. A letter from the Manawatu Railway Company forwarding £50, payment on account of the Tokomaru Valley Bridle Track extension. From Treasury, approving of the loan of £800 for drainage works at Aratangata roads, also requesting the Board to forward information in reference to Shannon road east loan of £50, Shannon Ferry road loan of £50, Kingston road loan of £55, Kahuterawa Valley road loan of £80, and Scott's road loan of £85. A bridge on the Tokomaru South road, which needed repairing was ordered to be attended to. A bridge on the County road near Kereru to be repaired. Warden Whyte was authorised to arrange for the expenditure of the balance of the Kaihinui loan. The Clerk was directed to write to the Commissioner of Crown Land, enquiring when the thirds money for Levin Block settlement will be available, and if the Government are prepared to fell the bush on the roads of the Horowhenua Special Settlement, It was resolved that the resolution passed on the 17th March, 1894, in passed to the striking of a general rate of 1/2d in the £., and the resolution continuing same be rescinded.
