The expedition which left Hiroshima this week landed at Seikioso. The Japanese operating in Northern Corea have crossed the Yaltu Two companies of artillery are embarking at Portsmouth to reinforce the troops in Hongkong. Reports from Corea state that the Japanese had a decisive victory over the Chinese at Kuiren, on the north bank of the Yaln river, defeating a force of 16,000, and that extensive quantities of ammunition and provisions were captured. The Chinese troops were utterly routed, and fled, with the Japanese in hot pursuit. The defeated force is retreating in the direction of Autung, at the month < f Yalu river. The Japanese, in addition to the war material and provisions, captured 30 guns. The Japanese force which has landed at Seikioso, or Liaotong, menaces Port Arthur, the Chinese naval depot at the entrance of the Gulf r.f Pe-chi-li. It is reported that the Japanese have suffered severely in attempting to repress the rebellious Tong-hak force, which is marching on Stoul, the capital of Corea. China has issued a war loan, payable in silver, of J81, 500,000. It will be floated in London, with a minimum of par, at a rate of 7 per cent. The Chinese main army is opposing the invasion of Manchuria, and fighting is now proceeding.
