♦ HOUSE OF REPBESENTATIYES, Monday, October 15. The Speaker took/the chair at 11 30 a m. Certain formal amendments in the Shopd and Shop Assistants Bill, sent down by Governor's message, *were agreed to. The Ministerial Residences Bill was read a third time and passed. The report of the conference on the money Bills amended by the Legislative Council was agreed to. The Tramways Bill passed by the Legislative Council, was committed. Mr Duthie moved an addition to clause 7, to provide that no system of electricity shall be' prescribed which permit any current or portion of a current, being discharged into or carried through the earth. This was carried on the voices. The Bill was then read a third time and passed. The Tongariro National Park Bill passed its final stages. The Hospital and Charitable Aid Bill was read a second time. The Counnty Vehicles Licensing Bill was lo3t on the third reading by 18 votes to 15. The House jadjourned afc 8.15 a.m. Tuesday, October 16. The Speaker took the chair at 11.80 a.m. . The Premier moved the second reading of the Midland Railway Con. tract Bill. This led to a strong opposition and the Bill was thrown out by 82 votes to 26. The House adjourned at 12.12 a.m.
