Aluminium Mitres.
♦ Aluminium is being used in Russia for the manufacture of episcopal mitres. The Kazau Cathedral in St Petersburg has just ordered a mitre for the Metropolitan Palladins, and the Convent of Eiew one for its Superior. These mitres weigh less than a pound, while the old fashioned brocade mitres weighed nearly six pounds, and besides were far more expensive.
