The bowling trophy of the locnl Cricket Club; which was presented to Mr J. Hownn! at the annual meeting last night, is a beautiful pieco of workmanship, ami reflects credit on the artist and engraver, Mr Ortidy, the v/ell-fcucjwn silversmith of Wellington. It is a Duke's match ball, encircled by an elaborately chased silver baud, holding in position a silver shield, which bears the inscription : — " Bowling trophy won by J. Howard, Foxton Cricket Club, ! 93-4." We congratulate Mr Howard on his prowess in the tented field, and wish him luck of his trophy, of which indepd ho may well bo proud.
