Mails for Baratonga and Tahiti per Eichmond, will leave Auckland on Wed. neßday, 26th Oct., at 9 a.m. A miner has been found brutally murdered near Coolgardie. A pick was driven clean through his skull. On Tuesday Messrs Gorton and Son bold a stock sale at Mar ton, and on Friday one at Feilding. In to-day's issue the Returning Officer gives notice of an extraordinary vacancy in the Borough Council. Mr W. Hunter, manager of the Carnarvon Estate, was thrown out of his buggy on Thursday on the Bangitikei Line, and sustained concussion of the brain and severe bruises. He was removed to the Palniemon Hospital. Mr John Beid, manager for Mr Pascal of Oroua Bridge, was thrown from his horse at Karere on Thursday, and sustained an injury to bin spine.
