Friday, Septembeb 14. The Speaker took the chair at 2.30 p.m. The Land Drainage Amendment -Bill was read a second time pro forma, and sent to the Agricultural Committee. The Harbour and Education Reserves Bill was read a second time pro forma and sent to the Waste Lands Committee. The Hastings Borough Loan Validation and Empowering Bill passed its final stages. The second reading of the Inspection of Machinery Act Amendmpnt Bill was agreed to after some debate. The Mining Districts Land Occupation Bill, was, after some debate, read a second time. The Colonial Treasurer moved the second reading of tho Government Advances to Settlers Bill, explaining that its object, to find money for farmers at cheaper rates of interest, was essentially necessary. After a discussion thf; debate was adjourned and the House adjourned at'l.fl a.m. till Monday at 7.80 p.m.
