Mr McMillan, the hon. sec. o_ tlie aboVe club has received the following letter I— • ... WellirigfedHj 14th September, 1894. Sin, — I propose to hold a meeting of the representatives of the various country clubs in the Wanganui Metropolitan district at the " White Hart" Hotel, Marton, on Monday afternoon, the 24th inst., at 2 o'cloc'f. I trust that the date will suit your Club to send a delegate to fully discuss the question of the number of race meetings to be held in our district hett year; My previous circular was, of course, only a suggestion and as I look tijloii rriysel- as tilerety a delegate in this matter, anil as my proposal was objected to by a number of the Clubs, I hope that a representative from each club will be present, so that if possible a satisfactory solution may be arrived at in a position which is forced upon us by recent legislation. Yours obedient servant, J. G. Wilson. A meeting of the committee has been called for to-morrow evening to consider it.
