Weddel and Co., meat importers are sending a large quantity of Australian mutton to Germany, and are arranging for a sample shipment of beef and mutton being forwarded to Cadiz. It is intended to erect immediately, at Westminster, in commemoration .if Cardi P'Us Wiseman aud Manning, a Roman Catholic Cathedral, capable of seating 10,000 people. The Basilica style lias been adopted, and ifc is estimated that cosfc of the structure will be £250,---000. Tbe Scotch Coal Miners' Strike shows signs ol collapsing. The Scotch miners ou strike bave i lost £630.000 worth of wages in nine weeks. The whole of the coal used in the country is being imported from England and Wales.
