7 — ' — • : — ' .• : '■;■■•■ The annual general meeting of the Manawatu Bowing Club was held at Stfrhßell's Hotel last night, ten members being present, Mr Aitkens in the ohair. The minutes of the last annual meeting were read and confirmed, and the balance sheet, whioh showed the . Club to be in, a» sound financial state, there being' £8 9a id! to its credit in the bank, was adopted as read. The election of officers for the ensuing year was then proceeded with, and the following were elected:— Mr J. G* iKihopu President (re-elected;) Mr J. JEt./StajwwU captain (re-elected); Mr J. H. Howan, vice-captain ; Mr £. P. Cowles, hon. .sea. ; Mr P. Curtis, hon. treasurer ; Messrs Aitken, Derraer and Hinchliffe as commit! w;? Messrs T. Westwood and Etire,. auditors,; The secretary was instructed to convey, to Mr Bridge the Club's regret at his long and serious illness, and hope that he will 1 soon be able to again take an interest ip acqoatics, also thanks for his past servioea as treasurer. ■ ;:\ Votes of thanks to the retiring offioers closed the proceedings. The new committee met immediately after the general meeting, Mr Aitkens 'in /• the chair. The following new members were, elected —Messrs Harrison, Walters, Cook, Boys and Bradbury. •"'■-'■ It was decided not to have any formal opening of the season.
