The Local Option Polls.
A return of the results of the local option polls taken last February shows that in 33 districts the polls were void, in 12 reduction of publicans' licenses was carried, in 12 it was resolved that the present numbel' of licenses continue* In two Cases Ho proposal was declared barried ; in one the abolition, of all iicieh'iies was Carried j in bhe the Jjall was Void »9 regards accommodation licenses, and in one reduction of publicans' . and accommodation licenses ami abolition of bottle licenses was carried. The total votes polled (exclusive of the Manukau electorate, the details of which cannot be ascertained) were—Publicans' license — For continuance, 42,429 ; for reduction, 16,096; for no license, 48,998. Accommodation licenses— For continuance, 81,842; for reduction, 9828 ; for no. license, 85,442. Bottle licenses— For con-, tinuance, 25,ft02 ; for reduction, 8018 ! for Ho license, B§,«BD. Of 248,191 pereohs oh the rolls of the colony, 122.284, or just less than 50 per cent, voted.
