A Most Unfortunate Man.

Mr A. H. Wilson, the well-known dairy engineer, ha 3 been laid up in the Wanganui Hospital with an attack of pleurisy, following on influenza, but is now making a good recovery. Mr Wilson, who plannsd and erected the Mangarnahoe, Ballauce, and other creameries in the Wellington country districts, has had more accidents and narrow escapes than the majority of men. About a year ago his head was

nearly blown off through the bursting of a steam pipe. He was next swept off his horse in the Mangatainoka river, and a month afterwards he lost his buggy in the Mangahao, only escaping with his life on the latter occasion through the assistance of a passing settler, who let down a rope and hauled him on to the bank after he had been some time in the water. Within three months of this accident he went over the end of the Manawatu Bridge with a buggy and a pair of horses, one of the animals being killed and the vehicle smashed to pieces. He himself sustained concussion of the brain, but was able to resume business in the course of a few weeks. The next mishap occurred between Woodville and Mahahara, when he was thrown from a gig, and his ankle badly broken. Later on he was nearly drowned while trying to cross the Parapara River, Nelson, and just before he was seized with his present illness he hurt himself by falling over an embankment on the Kimbolton road. — Put.
