School Committee.
The Committee of the Foxton School met at Mr Ray's office on Thursday. Present — Messrs Thynne (chairman), Ray (hon. sec.)t Little, Williams and Dr Dermer. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. Mr Stewart, the head teacher, reported that he had collected donations amounting to two guineas and had expended the same in improvements and repairs to the playing material. At the last meeting of the corns mittee much surprised was expressed by members that the Board had sent no notification of the result of the Inspector's examination and the honorary secretary was requested to draw the Board's attention to the omission. The Secretary stated he had sent the following letter : — Foxton, July 26th, 1894. The Secretary, Board of Education, Wanganui. Sir,— l am desired by the Committee to remind the Board that they have not yet been furnished with information as to the last annual ex» amination of the school. Their next meeting is to be held on the first Thursday in August, and they would like to be in a position to consider the report at that meeting. I am, sir, Your obedient servant, : J. T.
