A Walking Concordance.
During the session recently held at La Roohelle, France, of the General Synod of the Evangelical Reformed Churches of France, some of the delegates made the acquaintance of an aged Protestant, a pensioner in the Hospice of La Roohelle, who seemed to fully answer the description of " a walking concordance." This old man, Jules Fostet by name, astonished all his interviewers by his prodigious memory. He knnws by heart everj verse of Holy Scripture ! In the words of L'Egli-e Libre " Yon may ask hira for such a verse from a given chapter of any book, and he y answers without difficulty. One of those present asked him for verse 82 of. a chapter which has only 81 verses ; he at once indicated the error, and offered to recite verse 82 of the preceding ohapter, which, he said, ' has 88 verses,' a statement which was found to be correct.
