M. Burdeau has been elected President of the French Chamber of Commerce, defeating M. Brisson by 100 votes.
The new President has granted an amnesty to 300 itrike offenders in memory of his election. M. Dupuy, the Premier, has refused permission to the Communists to celebrate the Communist insurrection of 1871, declaring that the country was filled with horror and disgust at the recollection of the event, and it was not desired ther6 should be a revival. The Chamber of Deputies by a large majority, confirmed the decision.
Anarchists have muvdored the Director of the Tramways in Pißa. Three Anarchists in Erapoli, near Florence, have murdered several of their colleagues who had seoeded from the order.
A plot has been discovered having for its object the destruction of a train on which the Czare witch would travel on his return from England. Twenty-five Nihilists supposed to be concerned in the plot have been arrested. Kootze, Master of Ceremonies at
the German Imperial Court, has been found innocent of the oharge of blackmailing, and liberated. Another section of the Chicago Exhibition buildings has been burned down by incendiaries.
