A Christchurch Bank Robbed
* We leavn that a mysterious robbery of a sum of £500 in gold coin has taken place within the last few days from the National Bank at Christchurch. In reply to enquiries we are informed that up to date there is no clue whatever to the perpetrators, but there can be little doubt that our spieler friends Irom the other side, emboldened by past successes, are now flying at higher game. It is understood that the gold was taken during business hours in the afternoon, when there is usually a large throng at the counter of the bank. — Press. Yesterday afternoon Hugh H. Bich, teller in the Bank, gave himself up at the police station, and confessed to having stolen the money.
