The Case of T. W. Twist.
At the Wellington Supreme Court sittings yesterday in the case of Thomas Wcbley Twist, charged with forging and uttering a cheque for £7, the jury, after being locked up all night, were still unable to agree to a verdict. Mr Chapman (Acting-Crown Prosecutor) intimated that as this was the second jury which hud been unable to come to an agreement upon the case he would not ask for a third trial. His Honor thereupon discharged the prisoner, and in doing so said he had not the slightest doubt a mani- ' fest crime had been committed.
