The Cripple Creek miners have given up their arms. The Siamese Government has refused to bring into Court the mandarin Phrayot, who has already been tried and acquitted of the assassination of a French officer, the episode which brought about the dispute between France and Siain. They allege that they are afraid the French will seize and place him on board a gunboat. A deadlock has ..eonsequently occurred. The' French warships at S*r%ff have been ordered to Bangkok to support the demand for surrender of the mandarin Phrayot. [The mandarin shot Militia Inspector Grosgurin, whose escort were at the same time all killed by a body of Siamese, while the French troops were investigating Khong and other posts in Siam last year. The French Government demanded reparation, and after some parleying had taken place, and blockade appeared imminent, the Siamese yielded unconditionally to the French demands.]
