The decline of the gold reserve in the United States to 283,000,000 dollars is causing alarm. Coxey, Brown and Jones, who were arrested for forcing an entrance into the Capitol grounds, have been sentenced to twenty days' imprisonment. Owing to the coal strike in Pennsylvania it is expected that the factories will close down, throwing 2,000,000 people out of employment. Owing to the crisis in Servia fears of a revolution are entertained. The King has suspended the present Constitution, and is renewing that of 1869. He has also appointed new Ministers and Judges. The action of the King is intended to -curb the power of the Radicals, nine-tenths of whom are opposed .to the present dynasty. Nihilists undermined _ a house at Emolensk, where it was expected the Czar would reside during the army manoeuvres. The French crisis. M. Bourgeois declined to take the Premiership, and M. Dupuy has been summoned to form a Ministry.
