The latest development df the capabilities of the cycle comefe, from Brussels. There a bicycle-balloon race has (reports a Londoir'pajletf hi the 7th ult.) been arranged ltf iitie following manner. Prom Velodrome, Brussels, a balloon will be started on an aterial trip simultaneously the departure of a number of eyenW. The latter will ride round the Velodrome, and then start' into the country in the direction taken' by Ihe aeronauts. The latter have m'strtictions to descend at some convenient spot, and are given a token; or dispatch. The test of speed and topographical knowledge on the part of the cyclists is to reach in the quickest possible time the descended balloon, acquire the - token, and return with it to the Velodrome. It is considered that the new form of contest will prove of immense service in military cycling, as inculcating a^ knowledge of the surrounding country is that branch of the service. Prizes of good value are to be awarded.
