Sir Richard Webster.

An interesting fact in the life of Sir Richard Webster mentioned by the London correspondent of the Birmingham Gazette deserves to be placed on record, bir Richard's father was the victim of a financial misfortune which left him indebted in a sum of £40,000 when he died. Sir Richard, then Mr Webster, made it his first business in life to pay off the indebtedness. He entered himself at the Bar, and worked his way up. Providence smiled on the filial devotion, and his tremendous industry and great ability did the rest. He has for years been one of the most respected men at the Bar, and it will be the fault of bis own modesty if he does not within a convenient period reach the highest eminence any matfi&iay hope for, namely, to be the Lord Chancellor of England.
