Fire Salvage Corps and Bucket Brigade.
A meeting for the formation of the above was held in the Library Buildings on Wednesday, 7th inst., the attendance was rather small owing to other attractions. His Worship the Mayor occupied the chair. The chairman explained the object of the meeting and the following resolutions were passed. Proposed by Mr Jenks, seconded by Mr Hamer, That a Salvage Corps and Bucket Brigade be formed. Proposed by Mr Keegan, seconded by Mr Jenks, That Mr Hamer act as secretary pro lent. Proposed by the Chairman, seconded by Mr Jenks, That the Secretary be requested to commuuicate with the agents of the different Insurance Companies for the purpose of obtaining donations. The meeting was then adjourned uutil Friday, the 23rd inst. at eight o'clock p.m. Twenty-five members are already enrolled, viz.,— T. P. Williams, W. Forster, P. Hennessy, T. Westwood, T. Betty. W. B. .Rhodes, T. Redmond, T. Keegan, W. T. Little, J. Walsh, M. Walker, J. Collbs, A!f. Fraser, W. Cook, S. Trask, P. Williams, H. Williams, R. Stansell, W. Gillespie, W. Hamer, F. E. Jenks, G. Gray, F. Eure, J. Howan, and' J. Clarkson.
