Athletic Sports Meeting.
♦ The meeting convened by Mr T. lteilmond, the secretary of last year's gathering, was held at Border's Hotel last night. There waH a very good attendance, and the meeting was unanimous as to holding the sports. Mr lthodes wfts voted to the chair, and explained the natnre of the meeting, as to the advisability of forming an Athletic Olub and also to arrange all pieliininai'ies in getting tip the sports. It was decided that the matter of the formation of an Athletic Club be left over to a future meeting. Proposed by Mr Williams, seconded by Mr Trask — That sports be held on Easter Monday, 26th March, 1894. Carried. All those present signified their willingness to take lists and solicit subscription h. A committee of the following was formed to draw up a programme, and present to a meeting on Monday, the 12th inst. :•-- Messrs T. P. Williams, G. Coley, S. Trask, B. Spelman, J, and P. Dudson, and the secretary. The secretary reported that a little over £3 was now in the bank from last year's sports. A successful meeting was brought to a close with a hearty vote of thanks to Mr Redmond, a similar compliment being paid to the chair.
