♦— The usual monthly meetiug was held yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Present— Crs. Williams (Mayor). Austin, McPhersou and McMillan. The clerk read the declaration of the election of Mr McMillan as a councillor, ami Cr. McMillan took his seat. The minutes of the previous meeting was read and confirmed. CORRESPONDENCE. Correspondence received was read as folFrom Palnierston North Hospital Board, notifying that Mrs Allen's application for relief had been declined. fc From E. Gascoigne, Sbannon/fcending petition forms for signatures re *<H3»ation of unfinished part of road through "lunges to Eketuhuua. __ From John Kebbell, chairman Horo- -.._ wheuua County Council, as f ollows i:— " The councillors of the Tokomaru Riding in the Horowheuua County having asked me to obtain the valuation of the Foxton Borough in connection with a scheme they have for bridging the Manawatu River at SJhaunon, I have the honor to ask you to be good enough to supply me with the information required at your earliest conveuience." The clerk reported that the request had been acceded to. From Mr A. Seabury, asking for permission to take a few loads of gravel from the Council's pit. From Chief Clerk to the Minister of Labor, enquiriug if the provisions of the " Servants Registry Offices Act, 1892," are carried out in the Borough.
