Pitt, secretary of the North London Permanent and Commercial Building Society, has been arrested on a charge of embezzling £88,000, the moneys of the society.
The Rev Canon Danks has declined the Bishopric of Wellington.
In answer to the demands of Lord Ci'omer, the Khedive has published a proclamation praising the British Army and the British-Egyptian
officers. He has also ordered the Under-Secretary for War to resign.
A detachment of the Aldershot Military Mounted Police has bpen ordered to Egypt.
