The French Dynamite Outrage.
Onv correspondent writing of the outrage, which has been known through the cablegrams, says that owing to the prompt action of one of the officials, who caused the dooi'3 to be closed directly the explosion occurred, and instructed the soldiers to allow no one to pass, the miscreant who committed the dastardly outrage was caught. As he was badly hurt, his nose being cat and his arm injured, he was sent to the Hospital de la Charite 1 , but four detectives were told off to watch him. During the night they plied him with questions, and the man at last confessed that he was the person who had thrown the bomb. He said that his name was Vaillaut, though he also went by the name of Marshal. He described the bomb, which was a small marmito filled with "green powder," exploded by means of a glass tube filled with chemicals. In addition to the powder the bomb contained a number ot hobnails. He added that he was sorry he had missed his " coup," but hoped that some other fellow would be more successful. August Vaillant has already undergone various terms of imprisonment for mendicity and theft.
