The trial of Monson ou the charge of having murdered Lieutent Hamborougu is proceeding. Evidence has baon given that the Lieutenant was indebted to Monson to the extent of £26.000. said to be loan 3 advanced to him for educational purposes, and payable when he reached the age of 21. Two companies refused Monson's application to insure Hamborough's life" for £50,000. Major Hamborough, father of Lieutenant Hamborpugb, gave evidence that .Monson- had told him that young Hamborongh and he were out shooting alone when the accident occurred, but he afterwards said that Scott was present. When witness wished to have a conversation with Scott, Mouson gave a falsa address. The witness also alleged that a number of his supposed signatures to mortgages were foi'geries. The Sun rep arts that Scott, the man who is wauled in connection with the tragedy, sailed as a steward in a New Zealand steamer in August. The police, however, deny this, and allege I hat he is on the eve of being arrent d in Givat Britain.
