No reduc tion below £300. ihe Governor's salary t«» be reduced from £5000 to £2500. This enormous saving to be spent in reproductive works, in opening. up the country, and absorbing the unemployed labor. 2. Taxation —Land and Income Tax, with an increase of the graduated tax and decrease ii the custom duties on the necessaries of life. 3. Hailways.— To be managed by a Board of three directors, with the Minister of Public Works as chairman 4 Land. — Limitation of area of first-class land to 1000 acres for one I family ; retention of the i. allot; perpetual lease, with right of purchase ; Land Boards, 'o be »le«ted. 5. Education, The reiention of the present syst' m of national education, with the following improvements:— Tlie Boards to be elected | by the householders instead of by committee. Iu districts where th re is not sufficient accommodation in the Board Schools capita iou to be paid for children otherwise cated6, Native Lands.- That if* land held und<-r native custom The owners to have the option of either selling or leasing to the Crown, or individual Ring their titles.
