The race for the America Cup will cost each of the competitors £25,000. Eight deaths have occurred at Greenich Workhouse, and 200 inmates are ill. It is stated that during the Siamese crisis a French gunboat fired on H.M.S. Pallas. Lord Rosebery is making enquiries into the truth of the report.
