MANAWATU ROWING CLUB.
. JO THE EDITOB OF TOE MANAWATU HERALD. ?r gi r> — I would like to ask yon whether the committee of the above Club hay« any right to give the Club's property away, whether for a charitable purpose or any other purpose. I understand that at a recent meeting of the above committee a resolution was carried agreeing to a boat being given for a
charitable purpose. In the first place I doubt if the committee have any authority whatever to give away anything belonging to the Club ; and in the second place the purposes of the resolution misled the meeting by saying that it was a charitable purpose tor which the boat was asked. In my opinion, Sir, the committee have no more right to give away a boat than they have to give away the shed and all that is in it. Perhaps some of the committee will be able to explain.— I am <fee, A Member of the Ct.tjb. Foxton, October 7th, 1893.
